Hydration plays a big part in skin care, if our bodies are dehydrated usually our skin is.
When it comes to sunless tanning hydrating the skin is a must do, as I said before Dihydroxyacetone can be drying to the skin and depending on the quality of DHA it can be even more drying.
Recap: The natural process of dead skin cells slough off, yes this is the natural process of the skin, we can’t stop this process as the skin needs to renew itself, but we can slow this process down slightly.
When you are sunless/fake tanning always use a moisturiser/body butter, by doing this your adding moisture to the skin and tan, this will slow down the natural process of the skin sloughing off and will extend the life of your fake tan. (hydrated skin without that lizard skin look (Gecko ).
We should be adding moisture to our skin daily, so our skin stays younger looking, supple and hydrated. When we don’t add moisture to our skin it tends to dry out, looks lifeless and dull and more fine lines and wrinkles form. The same when you are out in the sun, the sun not only causes skin cancer but it’s drying to the skin and speeds up the aging process.
When you are out in the sun don’t forget to apply an SPF for your own protection from our harsh environment.
A fake tan only gives you an SPF of around 3%, not enough protection from Ultra-Violet light/rays from the SUN, you are more susceptible to sunburn in the first 24 hours after fake tanning.
Be aware and use a SPF when out in the SUN!
If we don’t protect our skin from the sun and pollutants, as we age our skin may just resemble a Goanna, not that cute Gecko from yesteryear!
Tip: We all enjoy a night out on the town and sipping on Cocktails! (Margarita’s for ME (frozen, even better). Alcohol does dry our bodies out and in turn our skin, so if we must sip on Cocktails then hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER DAILY IT’S THE MOST NATURAL AND HANDIESS HYDRATION FOR THE BODY AND ADDING MOISTURE TO YOUR SKIN!
(Hydrated Body = Hydrated Skin and Hydrated Tan).
Until next time!
